After nine years publishing the poetry of both veteran and novice poets, we established the Creekwalker Poetry Prize in 2007. The poetry of
Diana Woodcock, our inaugural winner, captured in theme and tone the quality of work for which we created the Prize.

Entries for the 2009 Creekwalker Poetry Prize will be accepted between July 1 and August 31 2009 with the Recipient announced on
October 31, 2009.  See our guidelines, below, for instructions.

Our contest is international in scope, is not limited by subject matter and accepts previously published, unrestricted poetry.

Dr. Oliver Rice, Ph.D. served as our 2008 Finalists' Judge. Dr. Rice has received the Theodore Roethke Prize and twice been nominated for a
Pushcart Prize. His poems have been published widely in the United States as well as in Canada, England, Austria, Turkey and India.  His
work appears in three current anthologies: Ohio Review’s
New and Selected, Bedford/St. Martin’s Introduction to Literature, and Random
House/Billy Collins’
180 More. His book, On Consenting to Be a Man is available from Cyberwit, a diversified publishing house in Allahabad,
India, which also produces the
Taj Mahal Review..
